Amazing food, and most beautiful atmosphere in Bethesda. Open air terrace with beautiful plants. Love the guac and Mole!

Tia Queta has quickly become the restaurant that my whole family is suggesting when it is time to decide what we are eating for dinner. Not only does Tia Queta have undoubtedly the best Mexican food in Bethesda, but the rooftop bar is an unbeatable atmosphere, drinks are high quality and low priced, and service is always fast. I am writing this review as I believe this is a restaurant that everyone should walk into, and their consistency, great vibes, and excellent cuisine will bring you back!

Excellent service. I ate puerco yucateco. Not so spicy, good to try, if you like pork and spices on your dish. It was richly flavored. ...

Tia Queta was a mainstay for my wife and I, and later for our entire family, during the 27 years we lived in the DMV. We moved to Texas in 2011, and last month were back in DC and decided to have dinner at Roberto’s restaurant for old times’ sake. Imagine our surprise when Roberto himself was in the restaurant! We had a very nice conversation, and the pollo en mole as well as the chili relleno were everything we remembered! The salsa is a dead giveaway that Tia Queta serves authentic Mexican cuisine. We’re moving back to Bethesda soon, and for certain will again be regulars.

Not your typical Mexican Restaurant. True Mexican Menu. Home appeal with great customer service. Looking forward to try the rest of the Menu.

Absolutely the BEST authentic Mexican food in Bethesda. While it's a bit off the beaten path, don't let the unassuming facade deter you. We've been here numerous times and have never had a bad meal. In the warmer weather, the rooftop patio is open. I almost hesitate to praise the place as I don't want to change the personalized experience, but this place is just too good not to rave about!!

Tia Queta is a great family-owned Mexican place that has stood the test of time! The covered roof is lovely for margaritas and food in the summer, and downstairs is always cozy during the colder months. The house margarita on the rocks is a fresh go-to, the nachos with chicken or steak (made on individual chips to ensure crisp perfect bites) and shrimp tacos, or pork shoulder or short rib tacos seasonally, make for a fantastic meal. While they do have some typical familiar Mexican dishes, they also have amazing mole, seafood, and a wide variety of pork and beef options beyond what you'd expect from DC Mexican food. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and happy to go the extra mile when needed. Love this place.

Hands down the best Mexican food in the area. It’s family owned and operated. We visit once a week and the food is always so great! The quality is consistent and service is excellent. Tia Queta is amazing all year round but in the summer they have the terrace upstairs which is a great hangout spot - feels like you’re sitting in Mexico City. You also run into familiar faces here which adds to the family style appeal. I highly recommend visiting Tia Queta and enjoying the food and service yourself :)
